Marie-Josée Strazzero

Marie Josee Strazzero, originally Italian but born in Montreal, Canada, began dancing at 4 years old. She embraced the art of dance and has a multidisciplinary background in classical ballet, ballet jazz, contemporary dance, tap dance and latin dance.
At the early age of 10, Marie Josee begins dancing professionally. She obtains a bursary to study dance at Louise Lapierre and at L’Ecole Superieure of “Les Grands Ballets Canadiens” in Montreal and also went to study at Broadway Dance Center in New York City.
For many years, Marie Josee trained at the most respected dance studios and with top coaches, performing in different cities in front of thousands of people and appearing on television. She encounters numerous opportunities including dancing on TV commercials, music videos and appearing on “Sabado Gigante” the most popular talent show in Miami, Florida with Don Francisco. She has also been asked to judge several professional dance competitions.
In 2002, she emerged onto the Salsa Scene with her dance partner Roberto Arenas Jr. Having won over 15 competitions in North America and they are the only couple in Canada to be on the podium for the World Salsa Championships on ESPN, having placed 2nd and 3rd place in the World.
She has also coached several dance teams including her professional team “Chilital Pro” which has placed 1st in Canada and ranked 5th in the World at the World Salsa Championships on ESPN.
Marie Josee is the co-founder of Chilital Latin Dance Company based in Montreal, where thousands of students, amateurs and professional dancers come to take classes and get coached.
She also runs and organizes the biggest Salsa Festival in Canada. The Summer Salsa Festival, where thousands of dancers, musicians, Dj’s and attendees participate. Marie Josee also organized the Latin segment of the “Just For Laughs Festival” in Montreal. Choreographing dance showcases and entertaining the audience with animation and line dances.
Along with the many competitions, Marie Josee travels the world teaching and performing on the International stage including: Canada, United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Chile, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.
